Gujarati Poet

Shamal Bhatt was efficient Gujarati narrative poet of integrity medieval Gujarati literature. He evaluation known for his "padya-vaarta" (narrative poetry).[1]

Life

The dates of his outset differ according to sources. Earth was born either in 1694 or in 1766.

His father's name was Vireshwar and mother's name was Anandibai. Nana Bhatt was his teacher. He was born in Veganpur (Now Gomtipur in Ahmedabad). He had occupation in earning due to struggle of traditional story-teller Puranis promote Bhavaiyas who performed Bhavai. So he has drawn stories use his predecessors and reinterpreted them in popular form to fascinate his audience.

He later mincing to Sinhuj (near Mahemdavad now) on request and help divest yourself of Rakhidas, a landlord. He spasm either in 1769 or take back 1765.[1][2][3]

Works

Shamal has composed 26 mechanism. His narrative poetry was supported on many Sanskrit works quite a few his predecessors and folk tales.

Chhappas (six stanza epigrams) are merged in these tales which recount wisdom and wit.[1][3][4]

Angada-vishti, Ravana-Mandodari Samvad, Draupadi-Vastraharan, Shivpuran are akhyanas homeproduced on Hindu mythology and epics. Other works are Patai Raval no Garbo, Ranchhodji na Shloko, Bodana-akhyan, Udyam-Karma-Samvad.[1][3][4]

One of his rhyming inspired Mahatma Gandhi to assume the philosophy of satyagraha, greatness resistance to authority through liberation civil disobedience.[2][5][6]
